Happy Eyes

i drove around for a while today. just me, myself and i.
it was a day where if you didn't get out and enjoy the sunshine and breathtaking fall foliage,
it would have been considered a sin.
my eyes were extremely happy today.
the only set back was being confronted by a cop who told me i cannot invent my own parking space anymore.
he must not know who i am! hmph. besides, this is my season, dag nabbit, my season!
here is a little peak at what the world looked like through my eyes today.

and if i ever were to go blind, they may as well rip my heart out as well.

Highest of heights, I climb this mountain and feel one with the rock and grit and solitude echoing back at me.

Fulton Farms

i cant believe october is half way over already.
it's been an awesome month so far and getting better as the leaves change and fall.
soon the tree's will be naked.
i am so, so, SO in my element.
i'm gonna preserve autumn this year by canning the prettiest leaves i can find with the perfect fall scented air
and open them up later on in the year to cry over.
thats just gonna have to do until i can find a way to make it stay fall all year round.

Fulton Farms is absolutely beautiful this time of year,
it was the perfect way to spend such a perfect day.

Pinch me please

i can tell its fall around here when a cup of hot mocha is the first thing on my mind as i climb out of bed in the morning.
when the sweet aroma of pumpkin spice candles fills the house, and chili is simmering in the crock pot well before noon.
its the kind of morning where you cant decide whether to open the windows and doors to enjoy the fresh air,
or keep the house closed up, turn on the heat and curl up in a snuggie.
i went with the first one.
crisp, chilly autumn air is no doubt my number one weakness.
i think ill tuck myself away in the dark tonight and freak myself out over some haunting episodes and a warm bowl of chili.
now why cant every day be just this good?

only 26 days of october left...
then its another 11 months of trying to breathe again.
sigh.

It was one of those perfect English autumnal days which occur more frequently in memory than in life.  ~P.D. James

If My Soul We're A Season
By: Erica Trent
2010

Alas! Once again I come alive
to breathe the chill in the air
and admire the miracle of Orange, Red, Green & yellow
swirling amongst me, as if summoning me
like a ghost within arms reach
I wake to the crackles beneath my feet, as I walk
for my soul has been in a slumber
I accept the riches of the golden sky
dripping mounds of patchwork leaves
splashing us with laughter
as I soak in the breeze
nature's masterpiece in brilliant bold
creating a magical tapestry of autumn madness
branded in my memory
indefinitely...
but soon Autumn will fade away
as I fall into a slumber once more
like a withered crop
I descend from my mountaintop
as if reaching life's final stage
beyond the iron gate
my Jack O' Lantern will blaze
for this will be farewell
till the chill in the air returns
and I can breathe once more
next Autumn's eve..

Autumn at last!

today is the first official day of fall, and getting out for a brisk walk with a dear friend seems almost mandatory.
tammy and i cannot resist the cooler air and changing colors outside, we have to get out rather than stay inside and let it all happen without us.
whenever the season throws us hints of autumn, we're like two lost souls, in a trance.
we're two seperate girls with conjoined souls who have been waiting for this season with intense anticipation.
we expected to have a nice peaceful walk at carriage hills but instead found ourselves in the middle of a good old fashioned 1880's brouhaha.
but thats okay, it made for some nice pics and uplifted our spirits a bit.
i'm polishing off my camera, my favorite time of year is here at last..
ah, i can finally breathe!

so much to do and so little time.

happy Autumn my friends.
and its just the beginning!

xoxo

Delicious autumn!  My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.  ~George Eliot

a few of my favorite things..

~fairy hunting~

perhaps the fairy's just stepped out to pick some wild berries and nectar for their supper..
looks like we just missed them...again.

~the subtle change in the tree's as if they are speaking directly to me.~

~solitude~

hanging out in a old forgotten cemetery, just me, my camera,
and sweet time.

~a favorite pair of boots, and hat.~

~none of us is promised tomorrow. today, in all its beauty, is all we have~

~freedom to live happy,
love life,
and be exactly who we are.~
